Building Better Foundations: The Autumn Armatures and Frameworks Workshop
A hands-on session in the structural mechanics behind sustainable, foam-free floristry.
There's a reason the best floral designs hold their shape long after the stems go in. Long before colour, texture or seasonal flourish come into play, every strong piece of design relies on a foundation that's been built with care: an armature or framework that does the quiet work of holding everything together.
That's the focus of our Autumn Armatures and Frameworks workshop, running Friday 25 September, 2026.
What the workshop covers
This is a practical, hands-on session built around one core skill: constructing sturdy, reusable armatures and structural frameworks using seasonal autumn materials. It's foam-free design at its most fundamental using the mechanics that underpin sustainable floristry.
You'll work directly with seasonal materials to build structures that are both functional and reusable, developing a sharper sense of balance, proportion and technique along the way. There is lots of inspiration and a choice of designs to create - materials provided.
Who it's for
This workshop is designed for florists and arrangers or creatives who want to strengthen their design mechanics. Whether you're building towards a fully foam-free practice or simply want more control and confidence in how your designs hold together structurally.

Friday 25 September 2026, with two sessions available: 10am and 6.30pm. Located at Donington at The Garden Studio
