We are absolutely thrilled to share some very exciting news with you, our lovely community!
Recently, British Flowers Direct was featured across the BBC, including a segment on Look North, along with featured articles on BBC News and the radio. It has been an incredible whirlwind, and we are so proud to see the British floral industry getting the national attention it deserves.

A Partnership Rooted in Norfolk
This feature wasn't just about us; it was a celebration of our vital partnership with Collison Cut Flowers. Based in the heart of Norfolk, the Collison family has been at the forefront of British horticulture for years.
By working hand-in-hand with their 15-acre farm, we are able to bypass the traditional auction systems and ship stems directly from their greenhouses to your front door. The BBC joined us on-site at the farm to see exactly how this "field-to-vase" journey works in real-time.
Why the BBC Visited Us
The floral industry is changing. For too long, the UK market has been dominated by mass-produced imports that travel thousands of miles before reaching your vase. The BBC came to visit us to explore how we are shaking up the status quo by connecting local growers directly with flower lovers across the country.
From the Field to the Screen
Watching our blooms on BBC Morning Live was a "pinch-me" moment. The segment highlighted the beauty, scent, and sustainability of locally grown stems. Unlike imported flowers—which are often treated with chemicals to survive long flights—our British-grown flowers are harvested and sent out immediately, preserving their natural fragrance and vibrant colours.
Supporting Our Local Growers
Our features in the BBC News articles focused on a topic close to our hearts: the revival of the British flower farmer.
-
Sustainability: By reducing "flower miles," we are helping to lower the carbon footprint of your weekly bouquet.
-
Seasonality: The BBC highlighted how we celebrate the best of what’s in bloom now, from the first tulips of spring to the lush dahlias of late summer.
-
The Economy: Every box ordered through British Flowers Direct supports a network of independent UK farmers and keeps traditional growing skills alive.
"It’s about more than just a bouquet; it’s about a movement. People want to know where their products come from, and we are here to show them that the best flowers in the world are grown right here on our doorstep."

A Heartfelt Thank You
This press coverage wouldn't have been possible without you. Every time you choose British-grown stems over supermarket imports, you are helping us grow this movement.
We want to extend a huge thank you to the BBC team for telling our story, and to our incredible network of growers who work tirelessly to produce the best blooms in Britain.
