• Prevent Stem Slime & Bacteria: Sunflowers are notorious for producing thick sap that turns water foul and slimy very quickly, which blocks water uptake. To maintain crisp freshness and clear water, always use a CVBN Pill in their water bucket.
• Remove Excess Foliage: Strip away all lower foliage, leaving only a few leaves near the top flower head. This directs all the water's energy straight to the bloom and keeps water cleaner for longer.
• Vase Life Secret: Sunflowers are heavy drinkers but dislike deep, stagnant water which rots their hairy stems. Condition them in a clean bucket with fresh water treated with flower food and a CVBN tablet, maintaining a medium water level.
• Light Lovers: As a classic member of the Asteraceae family, these blooms are highly phototropic and will naturally bend towards the light. Store them in an evenly-lit area of your workshop to keep those sturdy 50cm stems perfectly straight.
