Heckington Show 2026: Gold Medal for British Flowers

Colourful sign with painted flowers with -not/neon- writing saying -all you need is flowers-

Heckington Show ran over the weekend of 25 July 2026, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Helen won a Gold Medal in the horticultural section for her gorgeous display, and there was a steady stream of visitors to the marquee.

Event highlights

The stand was busy throughout the weekend, with a steady flow of visitors stopping to watch Helen's demonstrations. She worked through a range of different arrangements, and there was rarely a quiet moment.

Sunflowers were the star of the show. The googly-eyed sunflowers went down well and it was certainly amusing seeing their big, yellow heads bobbing through the crowds.

Not everyone read the incredible cornucopia the way we intended it. A fair few visitors saw a witch's hat rather than a horn of plenty. If you’d like to know more about the cornucopia’s history, head over to our blog.

Featured flowers

Alongside the sunflowers, the natural meadow look proved popular — loose, seasonal, and very British. Dried flowers also drew plenty of interest, with visitors asking about them for longer-lasting arrangements at home.

We also ran a competition over the weekend for a 12-month subscription box of British-grown flowers, delivered anywhere on the UK mainland.

What we're seeing

Talking to visitors and other exhibitors over the weekend, the shift towards British-grown is clearly picking up pace. People are asking more questions about where their flowers, and food, come from, and there's a growing preference for seasonal, local blooms over anything flown in.

If you missed us at Heckington, we deliver British-grown flowers across the UK mainland — for your home, offices, hotels, salons, wherever you’d like to see beautiful, British blooms.
